Virtual and real-world online and mobile game returns, offering players the chance to win a DS3 Cabrio.

Citroën’s Citroën Seekers online and mobile game has returned, combining real-world and virtual play to offer user the chance to win a DS3 Cabrio.

Developed by digital agency Candyspace and OMD UK, the game brings together such popular platforms as Facebook and Google Street View to allow players to ‘seek’ various DS3 Cabrio models hidden across a virtual world. Players can score points by seeking out and collecting DS3s in both online and real world locations. Each point collected gives one entry into the prize draw to win a DS3 Cabrio.

By offering both web and mobile gameplay options, users can now play from both their smartphone and their home computer.

The latest version of Citroën Seekers also offers further social integration; with certain clues being released via Citroën’s Twitter feed. Jules Tilstone, marketing director at Citroën UK, said" “The ‘Citroën Seekers’ games have been a hugely popular way of connecting with Citroën’s existing fan base whilst also introducing new people to the brand through a fun and engaging platform. Previous versions of the game have attracted almost 65,000 entrants and we’re expecting even more this time around. This is a fantastic opportunity to introduce DS3 Cabrio to our social networks and we look forward to delivering the keys to our winner."

Richard Evans, associate director at OMD UK, commented: "The launch of New Citroën DS3 Cabrio represents one of the most important brand campaigns of 2013. Having recognised the fantastic gamification opportunity with DS4SEEKERS in 2011, Citroën, Candyspace and OMD UK have created an all new platform, taking the digital experience and engagement to another level."

Tom Thorne, managing director for Candyspace added: "Gamification provides a unique opportunity for Citroën with the new Seekers Platform. The highly addictive gameplay and ability to play both online and in the real world via mobile devices gives Citroën a powerful and innovative tool to engage and reward consumers. Just as New DS3 Cabrio enables people to ‘Escape the Ordinary’, Citroën Seekers provides a way to experience something new and exciting."

Citroën Seekers starts at 10am on Tuesday 19 February and finishes on Tuesday 12 March at 9.59am. The game will be accessible from Citroën’s official UK Facebook page – www.facebook.com/citroenuk and http://seekers.citroen.co.uk.
