Buyout talks continue as Facebook takeover fell through.
Social traffic app Waze fell victim to acquisition rumours almost a year ago, and conjecture recently resurfaced as Facebook was thought to cough up $1 billion for the company.
However, talks with the social network fell through and Google is now expected to slide into the Waze driver's seat for $1.3 billion, Globes reports.
Waze has nearly 50 million users, but Facebook was said to be dissuaded about the takeover based on the startup's desire to keep staff in its native Israel. On the other hand, Google has made two Israel-based buys and has an office in the country.
Both companies have refused to comment.
