Users can now pay with their mobile straight through the app.
The social network is slowly rolling out the ‘Autofill’ mobile payments service to the billion-strong user base, reports AllThingsD.com.
Once a user has stored their address and credit card information on Facebook, retailers affiliated with the platform will have a drop down menu displayed at checkout.
Clicking on ‘Autofill’ on the drop down, will take your info from Facebook and literally automatically fill out the required details for payment – hence the name.
The new service simplifies the whole mobile payment process, which can prove to be a pain with the lack of keyboard and small screen.
With the increase in popularity of Facebook ads, 'Autofill' could prove to be an ideal way for retailers to attract new custom as they can target users direct through Facebook who can then interact with the brand without having to leave the app.
