20 per cent increase in users accessing Facebook via mobile

Mobile ads accounting for 30 per cent of all ad revenue.

The social networking site announced yesterday that its monthly active users accessing the site via a mobile device had risen by 18 per cent in the US and 22 per cent in Britain in June, reports Reuters.

Facebook have increasingly been embracing the mobile web altering its look, and repositioning the business as a whole. 

This has attracted extra advertisers resulting in revenue accelerating over the first three months of the year, accounting for 30 per cent of its overall ad revenue in the first quarter.

Unilever, Pimm's and Pepsi have revealed interesting details about the success of their mobile campaigns and how beneficial social interactions can be, displaying the importance of building better rapport between brand and consumer.

Brands are constantly trying to find new ways to reach consumers who are using traditional media such as TV, radio and desktop computers less and less, and are spending more time on smartphones and tablets.
