Sony Ericsson courting developers for Xperia X10

Keen to open up Timescape and Mediascape APIs for SDK early next year.

Sony Ericsson unveiled its Xperia X10 Android handset earlier today, complete with a pair of signature apps, Timescape and Mediascape.

According to the company's developer site, it is keen to get developers making applications that tie into both of these.

"We are keen to open up the APIs for these applications, and we welcome a dialog with developers to get ideas and feedback, with a view to launching a Sony Ericsson SDK in early 2010," says the website.

Sony Ericsson has already made an Xperia X10 white paper available on the site, and plans to meet developers at the Web 2.0 conference in New York later this month to talk about the handset in more detail.

Meanwhile, the company is also courting games developers, having uploaded a video to its YouTube channel showing a 3D racing game, Speed Forge 3D, running on the X10. Watch it below.
