Nokia plugging Ovi Store with MyDailyApp blog

Forum Nokia offshoot looks to spotlight top apps from handset maker's store.
Two of the lessons from this month's Nokia World conference were that Nokia is "on the attack" against iPhone, but also that its Ovi Store has so far failed to park its tanks on the lawn of Apple's App Store.
With those in mind, the company has launched a new blog called MyDailyApp, which is aiming to run one review a day of a new application on Ovi Store, to build buzz around the store.
The blog is the work of staff from the company's developer community division, Forum Nokia. However, they're keen to stress that the blog is independent from Ovi Store itself.
"These reviews are NOT paid endorsements of any kind," says the blog's About page. "Neither the team that runs Ovi Store, nor the developers whose apps are reviewed have any influence over the apps that are selected, or what is written about those apps."
So far 13 apps have been covered this month, covering the range of categories on Nokia's store. It's a sign that Nokia is keen to start building momentum behind the more innovative apps on Ovi Store, even if many of these apps continue to receive a low profile on other tech sites.
