Trutap secures Sony Ericsson distribution

Trutap, a UK-based provider of the eponymous free mobile social networking service, has inked a deal that will see its app offered globally through Sony Ericsson's Fun & Downloads content portal.

In simple terms, the free service combines the ability to IM, group message, text and post to blogs and photo-sharing sites into one application. Trutap is particularly keen to tap the potential of emerging markets.

The company is led by Doug Richard, who'll be familiar to UK readers from his stint on BBC TV show Dragon's Den, in which entrepreneurs pitch their ideas to a panel of hard-nosed investors to secure funding.
