IRIS Ticketing launches platform for TALENT Sport ticketing system.
Everton and Leeds Utd football clubs, along with Leicester Tigers rugby club, have been announced as flagship customers for IRIS Ticketing’s mobile-optimised platform for TALENT Sport ticketing system.
IRIS Ticketing’s new mobile-optimised platform is designed to support all forms of mobile devices, with clubs now able to replicate all functionality that fans can currently see on their website.
The launch comes as a response to the growing demand for mobile ticketing from sports fans. “Supporters want to be able to purchase tickets whenever and wherever they are and want to use their mobile devices to do this whilst on the go,” commented Mark Dewell, managing director, IRIS Ticketing. “It’s crucial that sports clubs can meet this demand and have access to the right technology to support mobile transactions. We have created a seamless online experience for clubs to stay ahead of the curve and now have a growing list of customers launching mobile optimised sites. TALENT Sport’s new platform delivers a personalised user experience from their mobile, offering fans the flexibility of selecting and purchasing tickets from their favourite seats to remembering key personal data to speed up the process.”
Last October, Gartner predicted that by 2013 mobile phones would overtake PCs as the most common Web access device worldwide. Since then, IRIS Ticketing has been working with three of its key sports customers – Everton FC, Leeds Utd FC and Leicester Tigers - to deploy the new technology.
Leeds Utd has conducted extensive research on its customers’ web usage to ascertain how fans were making their ticket purchases. “The introduction of our mobile ticketing platform is in direct response to some work we conducted into customer purchasing patterns. We strongly believe that offering fans the option to purchase tickets through their mobiles will have a very positive impact on our sales this season,” said Katie Homes, Ticket Services manager at Leeds United football club.
Everton’s Commercial director, Dave Biggar, also commented: “The number of people using the internet through their phones has grown sharply. To make sure we are providing our supporters with the best possible experience, IRIS Ticketing recently developed a fully optimised version of our TALENT Sport ticketing website and we’re already starting to see the benefits. In November, almost 35 per cent of visits to our TALENT site were via mobile devices.”
“We are definitely seeing a rise in the number of people using mobile devices accessing our site. In November almost 29 per cent of visits to our TALENT site were via fans using mobile devices and we expect to see this figure increase,” said Chris Rose, head of Brand, Leicester Tigers.
