Three m-ticketing trials for Turkish Football Federation successfully completed.
Neomobile’s Onebip global mobile payments service and Turkish communications and technology company Turkcell have announced the successful completion of three m-ticketing trials for the Turkish Football Federation (TFF).
Over 2,000 football fans were enabled to purchase tickets on their mobile, with ticket transactions processed by Turkcell’s Smart Ticket application, whose payment is powered by Onebip.
Turkcell collaborated with TFF to run trials for three international matches from September-November, including Turkey vs. Estonia, Turkey vs. Romania and Turkey vs. Denmark. The integration of Onebip’s mobile payment service with Turkcell’s Smart Ticket application meant that fans were able to buy tickets via SMS using any mobile phone.
To buy a ticket, fans had to text “3544” with the message “BiLET”. The ticket price was then charged directly to their mobile phone bill, while the fan subsequently received an m-ticket code, which was activated at special gates in the stadium to allow entry into the match.
Further to providing football fans with a simpler way to buy match tickets, the TFF m-ticketing trials also enabled football fans who may not have had a bank account or credit card to purchase match tickets.
