The contactless wallet offers multiple services including loyalty cards and mobile coupons.
MasterCard has announced a partnership with mobile transaction technology company, C-SAM and mobile-wallet service provider, DNP to roll out an NFC (near-field-communication) mobile-wallet into Japan.
The new service will enable merchants to offer quick and easy contactless transactions via a smartphone, to its customers who use the NFC wallet solution.
Other services will include loyalty cards and mobile coupons, while merchants and retailers will be able to offer discounts and deals tailored to each customer based on their preferences and purchase history.
Earlier this month MasterCard secured 16 new MasterPass digital wallet partnerships – introducing the services into the UK in July in a bid to end the annual £6 billion digital checkout abandonment.
MasterCard and its partners are driving mobile wallets further into the Japanese public eye, expressing its convenience and security.
DNP will be providing the introduction of the service with technical support, including operations of the IT structure, mobile wallet development services, and provisioning of the SP-TSM (Service provider enablement) service for PayPass.
