Google Wallet launched almost two years ago. It stores card details in the cloud, allowing users to make NFC-based payments in the real world and Android digital payments in-app and for downloads, without entering details each time.
And now, Google has bolstered its support of merchants that sell tangible items with a bundle of 'exclusive' deals for those that pay selected brand partners via its Wallet.
It follows the introduction of the Instant Buy API a couple of months ago, which when integrated provides physical goods retailers with a Buy with Google button in-app or on their mobile site.
The idea is to speed up payments in a matter of clicks, two to be precise, as Google sets about playing PayPal at its own game.
Airbnb, Expedia, Fancy, newegg,com and priceline.com are some of the partners offering deals such as $20 off and ten per cent off via Android apps and mobile sites.
