Mobile couponing and cashback service recruits another partner.
Danone has become the latest brand to partner with Shopitze to trial its mobile couponing and cashback service.
The mobile shopping engagement specialist is currently testing its brand-to-consumer cashback mobile couponing service, which offers exclusive grocery deals on its brands direct to its consumers.
Earlier this month it was announced that Philadelphia with Cadbury had also signed up to trial the service.
By utilising the service, Danone is now offering cashback on some of its biggest-selling grocery brands via the Shopitize money-saving app, including Activia, Actimel and Danio yoghurt.
Following successful trials with a select group of 15,000 smartphone-using shoppers, the Shopitize app is now freely available to iPhone and Android smartphone users across the UK.
The trial period saw consumers save up to 80 per cent on the RRP of featured products in the process. This has led to predictions that around 100,000 consumers will be using the app by May of this year.
Shopitize’s mobile cashback service currently offers over 50 deals from some of the UK’s biggest brands. Among those already using the service are General Mills, Kellogg's, Philadelphia with Cadbury and United Biscuits, as well as a number of niche companies, including Aunt Bessie's and Little Dish.
"Shopitize's mobile couponing service has the potential to change the way that brands can interact with consumers and get deep insights into the world of savvy grocery shopping," said Joel Kirstein, Danone's Digital Brand and CRM Manager.
"With this lifestyle app and service, we have the ability to connect with consumers at the point of purchase at a time when smartphone usage is seeing dramatic growth."
Graham Halling, commercial director of Shopitize, added: "Clearly, Shopitize is delighted that Danone joins the growing brand adoption of the fast-developing world of mobile marketing. This development further enhances our standing and reputation as the number one mobile consumer engagement platform in the UK and provides consumers the opportunity to earn even more."
