AIME launches Mobile Gaming Forum
Wants to promote consumer confidence in micropayments, virtual currency and more. UK trade body AIME (the Association for Interactive Media & Entertainment) emerged to self-regulate the premium rate telco business in the UK. It's now reflecting the evolution of that sector with initiatives like this. It says premium rate micropayments provide gaming and gambling companies with an important customer acquisition tool, and wants to make sure the industry protects itself and consumers. The Mobile Gaming Forum draws members from all players in the value chain – the gaming operators; the mobile network operators, platform providers and aggregators, media and rights owners, mobile betting and gaming technology providers and consumer-education groups. Mark Gibson, BDM at mkodo, will chair the Forum. He said: “Mobile Gaming has becom a substantial channel within digital gaming and interactive services. "Having a forum through which mobile gaming companies can liaise with mobile carriers and can lobby on mobile gaming-related issues and initiatives will prove to be of great benefit for the industry’s growth”.
