Zynga hits 9.9m daily active users via mobile

Smartphone use grows tenfold but net income falls 50 per cent.

Games developer Zynga's Q3 performance report has produced a mixed bag of results.

The firm has grown 80 per cent year-on-year in revenues to $306.8 million, however net income fell by 50 per cent to $12.5 million but this was chalked down to the Farmville creator's investment into new games.

Zynga claims  54 million daily active users overall in Q3, down from 59 million in Q2.

Of the mobile growth the report says: "Our DAUs on mobile platforms grew more than tenfold from November 2010 to September 2011, reaching an average of 9.9 million DAUs during the third quarter of 2011."

The company also revealed that 6.7 million users purchase virtual goods from the platform averaging at approximately $110 per unique player.
