No official announcement yet, but LinkedIn profiles tell the tale.

Zynga has made another acquisition of a mobile social games developer: New York firm Astro Ape.

The deal has not been officially announced, but US site Business Insider has spotted that Astro Ape's executive team have changed their LinkedIn profiles to reflect new employment at 'Zynga NY'.

Astro Ape CEO Chieh Huang is listed as the new office's director, starting in August 2011, while Astro Ape co-founder William Fong is now listed as director of engineering at Zynga NY.

The studio was previously responsible for several popular mobile social games, including Office Heroes and Monsterz Revenge. The acquisition could be seen as one in the eye for Zynga's rival DeNA, which made an investment in Astro Ape in September 2010, getting it to develop a game for the company's Mobage service.

Monsterz Revenge appears to have been removed from the App Store, although Astro Ape's previous titles remain available for now.
