Phone division driving growth at Chinese telco giant.
ZTE has been pushing its presence in the smartphone sector and is aiming to sell 17 million for 2011.
The move from feature phones to smartphones was made to offer a cheaper option to consumers in emerging markets that find the likes of Apple and Samsung too expensive.
ZTE says operating revenue has risen to ¥58.3 billion for the nine months ending September 30th, which is a 26.5 per cent increase year-on-year.
Revenue from terminal sales rose 53.4 per cent year-on-year, and sales of software systems, services and other products increased 28 per cent due to a rise in fixed terminals and services sales.
It isn't all glory though as the firm claims net profit is down 21.5 percent to ¥1.07 billion as a result of increased financial expenses.

ZTE devices are currently available in over 30 countries, but this year has seen an increased focus on mature markets.
In the UK, having made white-label phones for operators for many years, the firm launched devices under its own name for the first time this summer.
Its range includes the Android-based Skate phone.
ZTE will be hoping to hit the heights scaled by fellow Asian device makers HTC and Huawei.
It recently upped its forecast for shipments in 2011 to 80m, and should announce new devices and tablets later this year.
