New platform extends 'pay by mobile' functionality to interactive TVs, Android tablets, and games machines.
Zong is currently one of the big players in the online games micro-payments space along with BilltoMobile, OneBip and Boku.
Its system enables players to 'pay by mobile' rather than by credit card or PayPal. They can enter their phone number, get a text to confirm, and then process the payment.
Currently Zong services web games and Android apps, but this new move would drastically extend its reach.
“Mobile payments are gaining traction on all platforms and devices because the convenience is unrivaled,” said Zong CEO David Marcus.
“Zong’s new platform enables merchants and developers to integrate mobile payment in virtually any environment, be it on a PC, a mobile phone, a tablet or a television.”

It's unclear whether the system extends to console services like Xbox Live Arcade and WiiWare.
