Zed seals B2O music deal with U.S. Cellular

First US deployment of its Master Content Service Provider product.

Zed will work with U.S. Cellular to centralise the way ringtone, ringbacks and other content products are merchandised, marketed, programmed and distributed via the carrier's Tone Room Deluxe storefront – whether accessed through the web, BREW or smartphone platforms.

"We're excited about being able to deliver an even richer mobile music experience," said Joe Settimi, senior director of product for US Cellular.

"Tone Room Deluxe provides our customers with access to the latest ringbacks and ringtones - all in one integrated storefront."

The MCSP-powered Tone Room Deluxe lets consumers assign ringback tones to individuals and groups within their contacts list. They can also buy a la carte products or monthly subscriptions for ringback and ringtones.

"Our deployment with U.S. Cellular is an example of how Zed is simplifying the process of managing content for our partners, reducing both cost and time-to-market," said Blaine Cheshire, general manager of Zed's U.S. Operations.

"Zed also keeps the end-user top of mind by programming current content from the hottest hits to emerging artists, keeping customers on the leading edge of new music content."

More than 32 operators worldwide currently partner with Zed on this one-stop-shop platform solution.
