Anyway, Yankee Group has also revised its estimates for US mobile apps revenue this year from $537 million to $1.6 billion.
Other findings: its new report claims that nearly a third of all apps downloaded today are paid, compared to 18% a year ago. The average price has also increased from $1.99 to $2.85 in that time period.

As a whole, AT&T customers download 27 apps a year, while T-Mobile users download 18. Meanwhile, Verizon has the best paid-to-free apps ratio, with two thirds of its app downloads being paid for.
"Apple's innovative one-click technology and AT&T's exclusive deal for the iPhone put them ahead for now," says Yankee Group director Carl Howe.
"But strong results from T-Mobile suggest that Android will be the next breakout smartphone app platform."
