Newly-installed wireless boss says web giant will seek collaborative approach in order to grow sector.
Yahoo's new mobile chief David Ko has told Moconews that the company wants to capitalise on ongoing willingness among marketers to experiment with mobile.Though he played down suggestions that 2009 could see the first $100 million mobile ad campaigns, Ko said the segment was 'ripe' for quick growth.
"I feel that it is our job to get ahead of it and educate [advertisers] on why they should purchase on mobile. It doesn't have to be the $100 million campaign,” said Ko.
Yahoo appointed Ko as its new global head of mobile last week, following the resignation of Marco Boerries.
