Microsoft extends app store to older Windows 6.0 and 6.1 devices.
It says 90 per cent of the 800 apps in the catalogue will be compatible with the new phones, which make up about 30 million devices worldwide.
Windows Marketplace for Mobile launched officially with the unveiling of the new Windows Phone OS last month. Last week the app store was made available online from the PC too.
