That’s 13m songs available to 350,000 paying customers.

Norwegian-based WiMP is a streaming and download music service that’s growing fast across the Nordic region. It says its catalogue is growing so fast, and now translates into 74 years of continuous music play.

The service is live in Denmark, Sweden, Portugal and of course Norway, but launches are also planned in Germany, Ireland and Benelux.

Per Einar Dybvik of WiMP, said: "WIMP aims to be the best service for music discovery, and that includes of course to have the best selection. We import new songs at a furious pace, some days more than 100,000 songs are added to our system and out to our users."

In addition to providing music WiMP provides editorial content and strives to be the first for providing news and new music discovery.

The service is also available as a bundle with other digital offerings. This, 700,000 Norwegian Canal Digital customers are now also offered WiMP included in their TV subscriptions.
