iTunes event plus Beatles remasters equals... well, a lot of speculation.
We're going to have to break out the speculation italics for this one: bear with us.
Apple is rumoured to be holding an iPod/iTunes related event on 9th September, at which it may also unveil its rumoured Cocktail format, which adds video and interactive elements to digital albums.
Now, the same day sees the launch of The Beatles: Rock Band, the music console game based on the Fab Four. And it's also the day when the band's back catalogue comes out as remastered CDs.
Two plus two equals four? TechCrunch is suggesting that 9th September may also see some kind of Beatles / iTunes announcement - with the remastered albums also being sold as Cocktail albums on iTunes.
It's a nice idea, and would certainly make a big splash for Apple's new format. The mobile angle is that Cocktail albums might be available as apps for iPhone and iPod touch.
