HTC makes the Nexus One handset, and is currently the most high-profile licensor of Google's Android smartphone OS.
What's more, tech blog Engadget has been digging into the 20 patents at issue in the lawsuit, and claims that "t's hard to see how they can relate only to HTC's implementation of Android and not Google's OS as a whole".
Is the lawsuit all about the impact on Google and its other partners? It's hard to interpret in any other way.
