Cracking figures, Gromit!
Titan Publishing's Wallace & Gromit iPhone e-comic has been downloaded more than half a million times, the company says.
The app (App Store link) is free, so it's not coining it in yet. However, Titan says that the popularity of the free first episode has helped all four subsequent paid episodes into the Top 20 paid apps chart here in the UK.
Meanwhile, the app is currently the top free book download in the US App Store.
"We've been amazed at how well our first app has done," says digital comics editor Ned Hartley. "Wallace & Gromit is such a great brand, and iPhone users obviously love them as much as we do!"
Titan has just made the digital comics available for Sony's PSP too, with a similar model of episode one for free, and subsequent episodes costing 79p.
