And Rupert Murdoch is keeping ALL the dosh.

The Wall Street Journal has signed up 64,000 active users of its iPad app, which launched last month alongside Apple's tablet.

The news came in last night's News Corporation Q1 financials call, with boss Rupert Murdoch boasting that "Unlike the Kindle, we keep 100 percent of the revenue from the iPad."

The WSJ charges its iPad users $17.99 a month, although that doesn't mean 64,000 people are paying that - existing online subscribers can use the iPad app for free.

The newspaper gets users to pay via its own system rather than Apple's in-app payments, which is where Murdoch's 100% figure comes from.

He had further praise for the iPad during the call: "I believe it will lead a revolution in media consumption  and create added value for both our news and entertainment content."
