Vodafone UK to offer iPhone 3G & 3GS

Operator will make Apple's devices available in 'early 2010'

The deal comes just a day after Orange also nabbed UK rights to sell the iPhone 3G and 3GS from later this year, following the expiry of O2's period of exclusivity.

Beginning today, Vodafone UK and Vodafone Ireland customers can register their interest at www.vodafone.co.uk/iphone and www.vodafone.ie/iphone, respectively.

In a short statement, Vodafone said pricing, tariffs and availability information will be announced locally in the future.

Assuming the T-Mobile/Orange merger goes through, the iPhone will soon be available across all UK networks with the exception of 3, which could of course strike its own deal with Apple at any time.

Could the deals give O2 customers the chance to take revenge for its iPhone upgrade policy earlier this summer though? Read our opinion piece to find out.
