Revs hit £11.3bn with services and data up 25 per cent on the previous quarter.
The steady results are predictably fuelled by emerging markets, with mature regions stagnating. On an organic basis, turnover in Europe fell 1.7 per cent year-on-year. Conversely, Vodafone recorded organic revenue growth of 10.5 per cent in its Asia Pacific and Middle Eastern businesses.
Vittorio Colao, CEO of Voda, said: "These are the first quarterly results to show service revenue growth since the global recession impacted.
"We have achieved these results through our continuing commercial approach in key European markets, focusing especially on data, and from strong growth in emerging markets, with India now cash positive at an operating level and our highest ever quarterly revenue in Turkey. The financial outlook for the current year is confirmed."
The strong performance of the data operation was driven by ongoing sales of broadband dongles and smartphone data plans.
