Highest total ever now makes up 11 per cent of all Vodafone sales.
Data revs rose from £786 million from the same period last year and smartphones are now a quarter of Voda's device sales, but that is projected to go up to 30-40 per cent in 2010/11 thanks largely to iPhone.
The stats don't explain how much of the data revs come from broadband dongles, and how much from mobile content/web.
Across the group, Vodafone had a good quarter, with revs up 10.3 per cent to £11.5 billion. Europe's a struggle, but service revenues in Asia Pacific and the Middle East rose by 10.4 per cent to £1.6 billion, while in India it was up by 13.8 per cent.
