Vodafone adds Warner to DRM-free music offering

All four major labels have now signed up to the operator's music store proposition.

The addition of the Warner Music catalogue follows Vodafone's initial abandonment of DRM in March with the support of Universal, Sony Music and EMI.

Vodafone and Warner Music have also confirmed that they are working together to offer value-added album bundles that contain additional multimedia content.

Warner's catalogue, including the likes of Green Day, is available to Vodafone customers DRM-free as of today, contributing to a total library of over a million tracks.

DRM-free downloads are already available from Vodafone in the UK, Germany, Italy, Spain, Greece and Ireland, with others to be added soon.

The Warner catalogue will also be available in the following partner markets: Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, Slovenia and Switzerland.

Pieter Knook, Vodafone Internet Services Director, said: “The response to the DRM-free offering in all the markets where it has launched has been incredibly enthusiastic. Our customers love music and they love the flexibility that DRM-free on mobile gives them.”
