LiveWire-powered service passes milestone just three months after launch.
Virgin Mobile USA has sold 400,000 ringback tones since it launched the service three months ago.More than 100,000 Virgin Mobile customers subscribe to the service and have a choice of 10,000 tracks from a platform provided by LiveWire Mobile, a division of NMS.
The most popular tones among Virgin Mobile customers are in the hip-hop and R&B categories.
LiveWire was established as a personalisation division of NMS back in December and is currently pushing its managed services to operators in the US and Europe.
Joel Hughes, president of LiveWire Mobile, said: "Our objective of bringing managed personalised services, like ringbacks, to market is a natural fit for Virgin Mobile's customers and empowers operators with new subscription and content revenue opportunities."
