UK operator is giving its customers access to service free of charge for six months.
Virgin Mobile has partnered with Microsoft to launch WIndows Live Messenger as both a pre-loaded and downloadable app on its upcoming handsets.Usage will be free for the first six months, after which the cost for the service "will be assessed but remain competitive".
Virgin Mobile, which has 4.4 million mostly pre-pay users, says the four devices supporting the IM service will be the Samsung U600, Samsung G600, Nokia 6300 (all downloadable) and Sony Ericsson w910i (pre-loaded).
