Verizon has unveiled a music track recognition function called Song ID for its V CAST service.
Song ID lets users record fragments of a song, which is then analysed by the system to be identified within seconds. Consumers then have the option to order it over the air as a ringtone, ringback or full song. There are four million tracks available.V CAST Song ID service is a free download from the Music and Tones section of the Get It Now virtual store. Songs cost $1.99 as a dual download for phone and PC.
