There is no mobile internet, just the internet, says Nokia content chief Anssi Vanjoki.
And it’s bringing a world of new business opportunities with it.The unstoppable penetration of the net will be the single most important factor affecting the business in 2008, said Nokia’s executive VP of multimedia Anssi Vanjoki, speaking exclusively to ME for the 10 Years Of Mobile Entertainment supplement (bundled with this issue).
He believes this connectivity gives a diverse range of companies the chance to deal directly with end-users and build flourishing businesses as a result.
“[The internet] is penetrating everything... I think that over time the mobile industry will accept that there are many possible business models – and that they are complementary just as they are in the wired internet. The individual operators will have to make their own decisions. But on a more general level, that’s the way the market is going,” Vanjoki said.
