US Cellular takes mSpot's DIY tones

Regional US operator offers Make-UR-Tones app to its 3G customers.

The service allows users to select their custom ringtone from a catalog of 400,000 songs from EMI, Universal Music, Warner Music, Sony Music, Ingrooves and IRIS.

The Make-UR-Tones editor can be used to select up to 30 seconds of a song, which can then be downloaded as a ringtone over US Cellular's EV-DO network for $2.99.

The operator already offers other mSpot-powered services, which include mSpot Radio, mSpot Movies, Music Sync.

mSpot made Make-UR-Tone available on a direct-to-consumer basis back in March, having initially deployed it with Sprint and AT&T.
