Upstream opens new Brazilian HQ

Permission-based mobile marketing firm targets the South American market.

Upstream works with mostly operators, but also a few brands, to deliver marketing messages to opted-in customers. It's made its name with prize-based campaigns that reduce churn significantly.

Now it's adding to its bases in Silicon Valley, London, Athens, Bucharest, Rome, Singapore and Dubai with this LATAM move.

Upstream counts Coca-Cola, Vodafone, T-Mobile and BMW among its clientele and it currently has customers in Argentina, Brazil, Colombia and more.

Alex Vratskides, CEO of Upstream, said: "We already have a successful record in Latin America, but believe that there is a huge opportunity for us to support the drive for innovation and growth in mobile marketing that we see from carriers and brands in a region that enjoys some of the highest levels of mobile penetration in the world."
