Spanish-language broadcast giant develops app in partnership with GoTV Networks
Univision Interactive Media has released its Univision Video App on BlackBerry App World in the US.
The app, which is targeted squarely at US Hispanic community, will offer access to programming from across the Univision libraries, including news, entertainment, soccer, TV shows, sports, horoscopes and special events.
Univision cites Mobile Media Marketplace research from 4Q 2009 that said five million US Hispanics own a smartphone and that one in five mobile video viewers in the country is Hispanic.
Univision developed the app in partnership with mobile video specialist GoTV Networks.
Kevin Conroy, president of Univision Interactive Media, said: “This video app is part of our strategy to further expand our offerings across mobile platforms and deliver products that are highly relevant to our audience.”
