Universal signs up for Apple iCloud

World's biggest label in just in time for expected Monday launch.

Apple cloud service has been the subject of constant rumours in recent months. It's expected to build on the existing MobileMe back-up offering, but may also include streaming access to people's music and video collections.

The firm has already confirmed it will speak about iCloud at next week's WWDC event.

It's believed the major music publishers are on board, and that Apple is in talks to add film and TV shows to the service.

New speculation also suggests streaming will not be available at launch, and that iCloud will store only music purchased on iTunes.

The consensus also seems to be that labels will get 58 per cent and publishers 12 per cent of the iCloud fee.
