Study reveals the iOS obsession of mainstream brands.
New research by mBlox of 109 UK retailers reveals that 42 per cent have employed an iOS app to reach consumers, despite the relatively low addressable base of the iPhone.
Conversely 38 per cent have used SMS, which has universal reach.
A further 36 per cent have used the mobile web, 17 per cent have employed an Android app and ten per cent a BlackBerry app.
Andrew Bud, founder of mBlox, said: “As our research shows, adoption of SMS by retailers is certainly off to a good start however, with more than 56 million people in the UK regularly using text messages, the potential is enormous. "
