Czech mobile video specialist U-Turn Media Group has merged with Prague-based XML developer Ginger Alliance.
U-Turn says the merger takes its staff count to 65 and will enable it to offer clients a wider range of mobile content solutions. Existing customers include the likes of T-Mobile CZ, TV Nova, CBS affiliate WISC-TV and India's Zee Television. The Ginger Alliance brand will gradually be phased out and all products and services within the company’s portfolio will now fall under the U-Turn banner.
Almost all Ginger Alliance staff will take positions within the merged company, with a number of top management taking key executive roles.
U-Turn Media Group chairman Jan Obrman said: "The Ginger Alliance group is vastly experienced in deploying commercial mobile services and their combined experience and knowledge in the mobile industry is priceless. In addition, Ginger Alliance’s current product and service portfolio will allow U-Turn to offer additional mobile solutions outside of our on device portal technology."
Pavel Hlavnička, Ginger Alliance joint-founder and now U-Turn's chief technical officer, said: “U-Turn’s rich media delivery focus is the perfect compliment to Ginger Alliance’s collaborative approach to providing mobile services and cost effective outsourced development.”
