Twitter enhances mobile search and discovery

One-click redirects and more to deliver 'great content faster'.

Twitter has had updated its Android/iOS apps and mobile site in a bid to improve search and discovery for users. The Discover tab on the apps will now feature tweets, user activity, trends, and follow suggestions in one single stream, though users can also view separate streams for 'Activity' and 'Trends'.

Search, meanwhile, will produce a mixed list of related tweets, photos and accounts in one stream – similar to that of the Discover tab – while iPhone users will be able to search from anywhere within the app, something that was previously just reserved for iPad and Android.

Elsewhere, the Connect tab default view will list all Interactions – followers, retweets, and mentions – though this can be adjusted in the settings. Links have been adjusted so URLs will only require one-click for a site redirect, rather than the previous second-click for confirmation.

Twitter also updated its new Vine video app platform yesterday, increasing the porn-riddled service's rating from 12+ to 17+.
