THQ Wireless' Star Wars games will NOT be pulled from the App Store

Publisher confirms U-turn on branded titles, although the future remains cloudy.

Publisher THQ Wireless has announced that its range of Star Wars games and apps will not be removed from Apple's App Store today after all.

The planned removals came to light earlier this week, when the external developer of Star Wars Arcade: Falcon Gunner blogged about the imminent takedowns, due to THQ's licensing deal with Lucasfilm coming to an end.

Gaming blog Kotaku has the latest statement from THQ Wireless: "All Star Wars apps will be available until further notice."

Developer Josh Shabtai had also blogged about plans for versions of the Falcon Gunner game for iPad 2 and Android, as well as an update to the existing iPhone version. At this point, it is unclear whether any of these will be possible under the terms of THQ's agreement with Lucasfilm.
