Sales hit $5.9 million in fiscal Q3, but parent confirms job losses at the unit.
THQ Wireless generated revenue of $5.9 million in the three months to December, up 12.4 per cent on a year-on-year basis.However, in its earnings call THQ CEO Brian Farrell confirmed that THQ Wireless was being downsized by 100 people to focus on high-end devices - news reported by ME last week.
The move is part of a companywide restructuring, with THQ planning to reduce its headcount by 600 and cut spending by $220 million during its fiscal 2010.
As a whole, THQ's quarterly revenue fell 30 percent to $357.3 million, missing Reuters analyst estimates of $401.8 million.
It also posted a net loss of $191 million, compared to a profit of 15.5 million 12 months ago.
