The future of iPhone video is... YouTube keywords?

xhumans floods the App Store with video lounge applications.

Mobile developer xhumans has released dozens iPhone apps that aggregate videos from YouTube while adding a chatroom.

The company describes them as "video lounges", and has so far launched 120 of them. Each focused on an individual subject from the major (ElvisTube, RapTube, CelebrityTube) to the more esoteric (UranusTube, PopeTube and MaidTube).

Judging by the one ME downloaded - IndieTube - the content is simply scraped from the most popular videos for each keyword on YouTube, although there's an option for users to suggest others, or chat about the subject.

At 59p a time, the apps could generate decent revenues for xhumans, although whether users will realise that they could watch the same videos for free by firing up iPhone's YouTube app and searching for the relevant keyword remains to be seen.
