But still lags some way behind the likes of Waze and Ovi Maps
Telmap’s iPhone app has surpassed 200,000 downloads, having launched with nine operators including Vodafone UK, SingTel and Orange France.
It passed the 100,000 barrier back in February.
The company has sought to differentiate itself in what is a highly-competitive space by teaming up with operators to create navigation apps branded with their name, rather than its own.
However, it still lags some way behind the competition, with social navigation specialist Waze recently revealing it had notched 1 million app downloads across iPhone, Android and Symbian, while more than 17 million people have downloaded Nokia's free Ovi Maps navigation/mapping app.
Motti Kushnir, Telmap CMO, said: “The 200,000 downloads mark proves that operators are indeed still the most important partner for end users. The long-term familiarity, trust and billing relationships prove significant time and again when it comes to mobile services, and Telmap will continue to partner with operators on delivering location-enabled mobile interactions to their subscribers."
