Chip maker unveils hybrid component to address markets preparing for switchover
Telegent Systems has unveiled a 12-month product roadmap that will see it offer hybrid mobile TV chips that integrate both ISDB-Tb/DVB-T and analogue free-to-air technology.
The company, which has shipped 90 million analog F2A mobile TV chips mostly in Latin America and Southeast Asia, says its ISDB-Tb/analog hybrid solution is targeted at the former territory, with the DVB-T/analog chip shipping now in the latter.
Telegent says the next year will see expand the number of TV standard it supports and focus on developing algorithms to improve picture and audio quality.
Ford Tamer, president and CEO of Telegent, said: "We are continuously and aggressively pursuing industry-leading positions on the technical dimensions that matter most to our customers - picture quality, size, power consumption and system cost."
