Launches cloud-based app building platform that lets firms make apps for internal use.
The operator has teamed up exclusively with developer FeedHenry to create the FeedHenry Mobile Application Platform, which allows apps to be developed in standard web technologies – such as HTML5, JavaScript and CSS – and deployed across all major mobile OSs with a single click.
It's been configured to offer security features and functionality, including mobile application management, secure VPN & HTTPS connections, security and encryption toolkits.
O2 will act as a one-stop-shop for the service, managing the contractual and billing relationship with the customer.
The system was successfully trialled in Ireland where it was used by firms including Aer Lingus, Diageo and PWC.

Enterprise apps are considered to be a key strategic area given the growth of consumer-style IT habits in the workplace.
The private use of apps by enterprise employees has persuaded many IT managers to consider adopting native mobile clients for work purposes.
