Follows on from existing iPhone and Android news aggregation apps.
Mobile social media firm Taptu has relaunched its iOS app, which now includes a native version for iPad.
The app uses Taptu's search technology to aggregate and recommend news articles from a host of sources, while also letting people mash up their own sources into dedicated streams of content.
The company is pitching Taptu iPad as 'The Rubik's Cube of news', and says it goes beyond the aggregation technology used by rival apps from FLUD to Flipboard.
"Thanks to the millions of downloads of our first generation apps on iPhone and Android, we listened to our customers and futher analyzed how they want to consume their news, manage their information and social networks and mix their favorite content sources," says CEO Mitch Lazar.
"We’ve focused on delivering the most powerful way for customers to curate, follow and share content– from their widest interests to their most niche passions – all in one convenient free app."
