Mobile search engine reveals usage as it prepares to release iPhone app
The Taptu mobile search engine had 3.4 million unique users in April, generating a million searches a day.
The UK-based company, which is one of the few mobile-only search engine providers left, is also gearing up to launch an iPhone app of its service.
Taptu says it differentiates its offering from the 'big boys' like Yahoo and Google by only offering users results from sites that have been optimised for the mobile web.
Steve Ives, founder and CEO of Taptu, said: "I am excited by the exponential growth of Taptu searches and proud of the team for reaching this milestone. We’re looking forward to expanding our footprint in the mobile search market with the upcoming launch of the Taptu iPhone application."
