Taiwan's public broadcaster selects Thomson platform for DVB-H mobile TV trial.
Terrestrial broadcaster Public Television Service Foundation (PTS) has already integrated the French company's mobile TV encoders, DVB-H IP encapsulator, Electronic Service Guide server, clip playout server and interactive software.The pilot consists of three live channels and one music video channel and is being supported by operators Chunghwa Telecom, Taiwan Mobile and Far EasTone.
It's been a busy week for broadcast mobile TV announcements, with Nigeria and Uruguay also confirming DVB-H support and Qualcomm working with Maxis and Astro in Malaysia to trial MediaFLO.
